João Pedro Costa was born in 2002, in the Azores, Portugal. He studied Visual Arts at Escola Secundária Vitorino Nemésio. Attends a degree in Communication Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon.

He explores different areas of artistic creation, with a focus on digital. Photography, video and graphic design are the areas of greatest interest. His work is influenced by the geographical context in which he operates, referring, almost always, to elements of Azorean inspiration.

​

In 2019, he designed the official poster of "Festas da Praia" and he was the director of audiovisual content of "Folk Azores" festival. He had the opportunity to show his work at collective exhibitions at Praia da Vitória and Horta and volunteer at the arts festival "Walk & Talk" at Ponta Delgada. He also won the prize "LabJovem - Prémio Escolas" from "Burra de Milho".

In 2020, he designed the winning logo for "Jogos Desportivos Escolares", from "Direção Regional do Desporto", won the contest "Time is Now", from the European Youth Event, and recorded the winning report for the 2019 edition of the program "Parlamento dos Jovens". He also won the regional entrepreneurship contest "IdeiAçores" and the ideas contest for the new graphic line of "Juventude Social Democrata". He also produced, within the scope of 9.5. edition "Walk & Talk", his own project about the Covid-19 pandemic.

He often participates in various contests, projects and workshops, wich present him with new challenges and new people in different areas.
